At Professional, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us. From our student athletes, who can look across the field at any game and see a Professional employee watching proudly from the sidelines, to the hospital and charity boards that our executives sit on, we are a company that is as invested in our community as it is in us.
Professional is proud to have company-wide support of the following charitable organizations:
St. Baldrick’s Foundation
For the second year, Professional Physical Therapy participated in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event to raise funds for research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. St. Baldrick’s is the largest (non-government) funder of childhood cancer research grants. You can still make a difference for children with cancer and donate to St. Baldrick’s in support of Gold Coast’s team.
Cycle for Survival
2017 is Professional’s seventh year participating in Cycle for Survival. Our teams of cyclists participate in rides in New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut and Long Island! Cycle for Survival's indoor team cycling event raises funds for rare cancer research. One hundred percent of the funds go directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and are allocated within six months of each event. The donations go to the most promising research and clinical trials, and have led to better treatments for cancer patients worldwide. Help make a difference by donating to Cycle for Survival through our national page:
Back in the Game
Since 2006, Professional’s Athletic Performance Center has been the community-based home for Back in the Game, a program that rebuilds strength and agility in pediatric patients with cancer and other blood disorders, and helps accelerate their participation back into everyday sports and physical activity. In 2013, Back in the Game was featured at a NY Islanders game, watch the video here:
“Casual for Cohen” Miracle Jeans Day
For the past four years, Professional has been the top fundraiser for Cohen Children’s Medical Center’s Miracle Jeans Day. In addition to our company-wide fundraising efforts for this great cause, Professional also is a participant in the Back in the Game program, which is dedicated to improving the physical abilities of the children being treated at CCMC.
In our first year of fundraising for charity : water, Professional more than doubled our campaign goal and was able to provide clean water to a community of 299 people in a developing nation, where it is needed most.
