Dean Maddalone is an NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and USA Weightlifting Coach as well as a NYS licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. He graduated from Nassau Community College in 1993 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Physical Education at Queens College in 2000. Dean has worked in outpatient sports medicine for over 20 years and has coached and rehabilitated many high school, college and professional athletes.
Dean joined the Professional Athletic Performance Center in 2005 and became Director of the Performance Center in 2008. During this time he has been involved with many community outreach programs promoting and educating athletes and parents on the benefits of proper strength and conditioning to improve performance and prevent injuries. Utilizing his knowledge of rehabilitating athletes, Dean has developed the Bridge Program, focusing on returning injured athletes back to the field. The program has successfully returned numerous high school and college athletes back to their sport.
Dean has worked with many of our professional athletes on a one-on-one basis as well as in a group setting. Dean is the primary coach for all athletes preparing for the NBA Combine. He is also involved with training many of major and minor league baseball players during the off season.
Dean was a competitive Olympic weightlifter in the Masters Division. He is involved with our student internship program, educating Exercise Science students from local and international colleges. He is also involved with teaching students from the Nassau Community College Physical Therapist Assistant program.
