Charity Challenge

Each year, Professional hosts its annual Charity Challenge program to benefit local organizations. Charity Challenge allows each team of employees to choose a cause they care about and raise money through events and other unique methods. The teams “compete” with one another and are judged on a variety of criteria, including how well they share the charity’s message, branding, and creativity. The winning team’s contributions are matched* by Professional!

*Matching donation up to $25,000.

Team Therese

The winner of our 2017 Charity Challenge was Team Therese in New England.  Team Therese raised over $38,000 in memory of Therese Higgins, a member of the ProEx family who tragically passed away from lung cancer, with a memorial golf tournament.

Wounded Warrior Project

Professional hosted a “Night at the Races” event at Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, NJ. Through corporate donations, Chinese auctions, and a live horse race named for Professional, the team was able to raise $33,310 for the Wounded Warrior Project.  This was one of several events over the past few years that Professional has actively initiated, and participated in, to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

“We’re extremely grateful for the support of Professional Physical Therapy and their dedication to our wounded veterans.  The generosity of our donors makes it possible for wounded warriors to take part in outreach activities and benefit from program resources at no cost to them. Professional Physical Therapy’s gift will help Wounded Warrior Project continue connecting wounded warriors with programs and services that will empower them to live their lives on their own terms.” – Gary Corless, Wounded Warrior Project’s Chief Development Officer

Veteran’s Family Foundation

In 2015 and 2016, Professional hosted a “Speakeasy Soiree” themed Bets For Vets Casino night. The event was held aboard the Intrepid Air, Space, and Sea Museum and all proceeds benefitted the museum’s Veterans Family Foundation. In total, Professional raised nearly $150,000 for this foundation.

This donation allowed the Intrepid Museum to launch a Veterans Access Initiative that will provide a safe and social space for military service members and their families. Susan Marenoff-Zausne, Intrepid Air, Space, and Sea Museum’s President

Miracle Jeans Day

Every year, we help raise funds for life-saving medical care for kids. Professional has been the top fundraiser for this local program since 2010.

Hurricane Relief

Since 2012, the United States has been hit hard with several disastrous hurricanes. Each time, Professional felt compelled to help.  Through Hurricane Sandy, Harvey, and Maria, Professional engaged the entire company to support relief efforts. Professional made generous monetary donations, as well as enlisted the help of our giving patients.  Across all of our locations, we collected much needed items such as water bottles, gift cards, personal hygiene items, blankets, baby supplies and more, and ensured delivery to the affected areas.

Crutches 4 Kids

Professional was involved in the first-ever New York City Crutches4Kids crutch drive, with drop-off locations stationed at a variety of our Manhattan and Queens locations. We collected used crutches, which Crutches4Kids then distributed to children in need around the world.

charity:water

In 2013, Professional Physical Therapy Partner and Senior Vice President Tony D’Angelo, introduced us to charity: water, an organization dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to people in need around the world. In February 2015, the project which we helped fund was completed, providing a piped water system with tap stands to the Dara Khola community in Nepal.

We will work in an effective way to get you back on your feet, focused on your wellness during and after therapy.
