Jennifer is my physical therapist and she is really perfect. She makes all efforts to get you the maximum relief from the discomfort/pain and brings back your range of motion and strength in your joints. The physical therapy team is great at this center.

I couldn't lift my right arm 6 weeks ago. I also had a sharp pain from a tendon in my left thight. My arm has improved 100% and the pain in the tendon has diminished 80%. Adam, Alex sr, Jennifer, Alex jr, are very professional and they are also great people. Being surrounded by such good people is... in itself healing.read more

Great staff and very helpful. Dr. Alex Ivashenko is a great diagnostician and develops a course of treatment that truly helps. I suffered for years with significant neck issues that most said required surgery with a low probability I’d get true relief. Alex continuously evaluated and modified... treatment through manual manipulations and exercises that alleviated pain/migraines and restored mobility. Unfortunately, I’ve required treatment for other injuries such as my shoulder and knee and Alex once again treated both injuries and I am pain free. Jennifer Barnett is excellent and very knowledgeable as she treated me for a hand/wrist problem. I am grateful I found them!read more

I've been a patient of Alex several times due to some minor surgeries. His knowledge is beyond beneficial to your treatment. This past year I was Jennifer's patient after a pretty big foot surgery. She was thorough, caring, and knew when to push me. Jennifer had the ability to keep her eye on yoir... form from across the room and make corrections when you thought she wasnt watching! Both Alex and Jennifer treated me like a friend and a patient. They make you laugh but listen attentively to how you are healing. There is a younget Alex, there too. He is very hands on, so positive, and demonstrates his wilkingness to learn thhrough his patients. All of the staff are pleasant, professional, competent, and empathetic. Theor personalities and treatment styles mesh so well together!! They work with you schedule and insurance. I hope to stay healthy but if I need to, I know where to for PT!read more

I can’t say enough great things about this physical therapy institution. All of the therapists are absolutely FANTASTIC!! They not only make people feel extremely comfortable but they are amazing at what they do. I came in with a very serious injury with a very long recovery time and I’m... recovering faster then expected because of them. I’m not exaggerating how wonderful they are.read more

My orthopedic surgeon recommended this facility because of Alex I. The level of expertise is very high and you will be in good hands with any of the therapists here. It’s a fairly small place, but they have all of the equipment you’d need. I’ve had knee replacement therapy, lower back pain issues... and sciatica therapy. They can handle it all!read more

Alex and Jennifer are absolutely awesome! They are the most knowledgeable and skilled therapists, and their treatment, techniques and certifications far exceed all other therapists I’ve been to over the years. I first received P.T. for my back when my pain was so bad, it even hurt to breathe. In... 3 quick months, I was completely pain-free and I say 3 “quick” months because it was a pleasure to go for treatment. The atmosphere was always positive, always uplifting, and always motivating - and they both have a great sense of humor. Give them a try and you’ll agree 100%. They truly are experts and they’ll have you recovered faster than any other!read more

Alex has been my physical therapist for the past 10 years and I recommend him with the greatest possible confidence. I began seeing Alex with a lingering neck injury following a major car accident. I had been dealing with severe neck pain for over two years and the pain had become unbearable with... daily headaches and reduced mobility. I truly don’t know where I’d be today without Alex. Alex is highly skilled and compassionate. His great sense of humor make the exercises pass quickly. He is honest and tells it how it is. At times Alex would challenge me to be more diligent with my exercises so that I would achieve the healing I was after. He truly wants to see his patients recover. Alex has treated me over the years when I experienced re-injury or new injuries. He has helped me recover every time. I couldn’t be more thankful for Alex. He is truly an expert at what he does and I trust his professional judgement wholeheartedly.read more

This is by far the best PT I have ever experienced! Alex and his team are very thorough and attentive. They took their time to understand my condition; what lead to it and my current state to put me on the correct path to recovery. If it wasn’t for Alex’s personal care of my lower back, I would... not be able to walk or sit without consistent pain. His wonderful bedside manner combined with a methodical approach to care really comforted me at a very vulnerable point in my life. Thank you Alex and thank your crew for the care you provided to restore me to a pain free and miraculously active state. Forever grateful!read more

Alex and his staff offer the best PT services for miles around. Literally.I have been going to this practice, in various locations, for over 10 years. I have been to several others, all of whom do the minimum and push you out.Alex's hands are a gift and he can treat my chronic back pain and... spinal stenosis like no one else.By the way, I started going to this group at the recommendation of my spinal surgeon at HHS in NYC. One if the best orthopedic hospitals in the entire world.read more

Friendly office, bright atmosphere and great therapists. I went on and off for 18 months and worked w Alex Ivashenko. He made sure my condition was diagnosed correctly (it had not been) and set about on a course of treatment that relieved the constant pain I was suffering from and helped me to get... stronger and more mobile. I was previously very active and Alex helped me to return to that level of activity. The office worked w my insurance company filling out endless paperwork. Alex Ivashenko is without a doubt a master of Physical Therapy. I came in there in relentless pain from Costochondritis and from my first visit I felt my life change and felt like I was in good hands. I was taking antiinflammatories every day and having trouble sleeping and was afraid that I would... be stuck with the affliction of costochondritis for the rest of my life. He worked with me and actually began solving my problem from the first visit. Him and his staff are extremely Professional and the name of the practice is fitting. He took care of my problem and after a few visits and he has greatly improved my condition. I struggled with this issue for over a year and a half and within a couple of weeks I feel almost fully back to normal. This is without a doubt the best decision I ever made coming to this practice to get help with my problem. Thanks Alex!read more

The staff at Professional Physical Therapy are professional, knowledgeable and personable! They make the task of physical therapy bearable with their wit and skill sets. While I heartily recommend Alex, the therapist I have seen, they are all highly competent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend... each one. The PT Aides are helpful and charming. The front desk personnel are accommodating and responsive to requests. One day I received a call asking if I wanted to take a different time slot. Sue recalled that I had mentioned something offhand about this. I have to admit I have had PT more than once and it has always been effective. Definitely try PT before seeking other options and this is the place to do so.read more

Bio

I suffered a knee injury and surgery in 1977. I was never given the opportunity to fully recover. The doctor never directed me what to do after the surgery. During my junior year in college (1978), I stumbled across the field and felt that if I had been directed to a good PT, I would have had better recovery. I made myself a promise to do that for other people and became a PT. I had a PT clinic for 23 years treating orthopedic and sports related injuries in Edison NJ. At the same time, I continued my education received a post graduate doctorate in Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy, Board Certification as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist (OCS), Certified as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist by MAPS (COMT) and Hip and Core Specialist from the Hospital for Special Surgery (AHC). I have continued to advance my skills being certified with Vestibular and Concussion Programs. My goal is provide my patients with the highest level of skill to facilitate their recovery. I joined Professional PT in September 2018 and have not looked back. Working with a group of therapists that push each other to do their best has encouraged me to continue in my growth as a Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist.

Bio

I have been interested in becoming a Physical Therapist since I was in middle school. From playing softball my whole life, I suffered many injuries. After going to physical therapy for different injuries, I learned what it was like to be a patient, and qualities I desired in my Physical Therapist. I received my Bachelors degree from DeSales University majoring in Sport and Exercise Physiology, which then set me up to go to Rutgers to get my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. At Rutgers, I had a clinical experience in an acute care setting treating a variety of patients with numerous conditions including post joint replacement, post stroke, and patients receiving
cancer treatments. I also had clinical experiences treating in the outpatient orthopedic/sport setting, working on getting patients back to prior level of function to return to work, sport, and other interests. From my experiences both clinically and as a patient, I knew I wanted to continue helping patients in the orthopedic setting recover from injuries.

Bio

My early interest in the medical profession started with a love for biology, “playing with my friends” and serving others. I received my undergraduate PT degree from Temple University and my doctorate from Chatham University specializing in orthopedics and manual therapy.  Most of my clinical years have been spent in outpatient orthopedic and sports practice. This includes being a co-owner of a PT practice for over 20 yrs. Over the past 30 years, I have continued to equip myself extensively with the most up to date evidence based continuing education training in orthopedic injuries, manual therapy, and neuromuscular rehabilitation. Over the years I have seen many orthopedic patients who concurrently have pelvic floor dysfunction affecting their recovery of orthopedic injuries especially of the low back and core.  This led me to pursue specialized training as a Pelvic Floor Specialist. I recently completed my certification in pelvic floor rehabilitation.  With the addition of this specialty, it allows me to treat female and male patients back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction more comprehensively. My training, broad knowledge base and experience has equipped me to address the underserved pelvic health crisis and associated disorders.
