I limped in to professional physical therapy practice unable to really walk well on my right foot about three months ago. I am leaving able to walk at least 2 1/2 miles. The place is clean, people are friendly, and my therapist Rujuta Tandel was wonderful, and understanding of my limitations. I... would recommend this physical therapy center to more

I started training at the age of 6 and went on to become a state level sprint runner. This led me to procure a bachelor's degree in Physical therapy from K.J. Somaiya Medical College in Mumbai, India. I came to the US to pursue my master's degree in Orthopedics from the University of Indianapolis followed by a tDPT from Touro College, NYC. My desire to become a well-rounded professional prompted me to pursue my MBA with a Dean’s merit scholarship from Temple University. As the Clinical Director, I have diverse experience, having worked in India, at King’s County hospital in Brooklyn and at an Orthopedic surgeon owned practice. I incorporate and encourage evidence-based practice. My doctoral capstone “Application of the Evidence-Based Practice Model by Physical Therapy Clinical Practitioners” was published in the Journal of Allied Health in 2019. I use Mulligan’s and Maitland’s mobilization techniques to treat restricted joints. I believe in having a healthy mind and body to permeate health and wellness into my patients. I am an ardent Iyengar Yoga practitioner and spend time doing Pilates and gym training. I also completed a study showing the difference in breath holding time in Pranayama practitioner's vs normal population during my bachelors. Outside of work I love to run by the waterfront, write poems, play the harmonium, draw henna tattoos, read, paint, and try different cuisines. I am  member of the Iyengar Yoga Association of New York. I am also recipient of the best speaker’s award at Toastmasters. My faith in the almighty helps me empathize with my patients and is the driving force behind my work ethic. Clinical Interest: I am passionate about post-surgical orthopedic rehabilitation of the shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and the spine and my experience in acute care taught me to enjoy neurological rehabilitation of strokes, spinal cord injury and vestibular disorders as well. I aspire to get an orthopedic specialty certification (OCS) soon.
