Parking and Directions

Professional Physical Therapy in New Brunswick is located in the Matrix Plaza, inside 303 George Street office building, at the intersection of New Street and George Street. We are near The Standard and Dunkin’ Donuts.

If you use the New Street entrance head towards the glass doors and hit buzzer to be let in by security.

Parking garage is available at 55 New Street, directly adjacent to the clinic. Parking validation is available for Pro PT.

Bio

Derek McConnell PT, DPT is a physical therapist and the Clinical Director of Professional Physical Therapy in New Brunswick, NJ. He attained a BS in Biology from Ramapo College in 2009 and his DPT from Rutgers University in 2012. Since attaining his doctorate he has spent the majority of his career treating all types of orthopedic conditions, specializing in manual therapy.

While working through college and graduate school, he was a nursing aide in the traumatic brain injury unit at Kessler’s inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Chester NJ. He refers to it as the most rewarding job he’s ever had, as it gave him the opportunity to help people when they were at their lowest; performing jobs that nobody wanted to do but patients needed help with the most. He is known for being tough on patients, but following through their care with compassion.

Bio

Rob has been a practicing Physical Therapist since 2022. Rob is also completing the Orthopedic Residency Program in order to become a board-certified specialist (OCS). He uses a complete approach to orthopedic patient care including a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education. Rob was a college athlete competing in both football and track & field. Through college, he was a facility manager and head personal trainer at the fitness center. During graduate school, Rob took an interest orthopedics and pain science. Alongside these interests, he began to treat patients with vestibular conditions including vertigo and vestibular hypofunction during clinical rotations.
