I worked with Dave during my recovery from jaw surgery, and I always felt like I was in good hands. Everyone in the clinic was kind and good at their jobs. I’m overall very happy with the experience and my progress in my recovery.

David is amazing. I’ve been seeing him for around 6-7 years for various injuries and surgery. He’s kind and understanding. He will come up with a treatment plan that works and will have you feeling better in no time. I would recommend him to anyone who needs physical therapy, and I already have... recommended him to friends and family. As for the Newburyport clinic, it is clean and well maintained. Olivia, one of the technicians there is super kind and fun to talk to.Overall, I would recommend this clinic to anyone and everyone who needs physical therapy in the area. It’s an amazing clinic with great staff.read more

I have been to Professional PT in Amesbury a few years ago, and worked with John. Currently I’m going to the new Newburyport location, and working with Dave. I have had consistently great experiences at both locations. The staff are kind, friendly, compassionate, and excellent at patient teaching,... encouragement and support.Professional PT is also incredibly organized. I received video clips of the exercises that I needed to do at home, as well paper handout options, making the home exercises easy to do. They are meticulously hygienic, cleaning surfaces between patients, etc. Everyone from the receptionist who greets you, to the PT assistants, to the PT’s who develop your care plan, are top notch, and much appreciated!!read more

Dr. McGinty and the team provide such a supportive environment - you know you’re in good hands from the minute you walk in the door. I received excellent care that helped me on the road to recovery from injury... and set me on a great path moving forward. A special shout-out goes to Olivia who worked with me on a lot of my treatment exercises, and made everything feel much more like fun than work.read more

If your search landed you here at Professional PT of Newburyport… look no further!!!I got incredibly lucky, Professional PT was the first facility to return my request for vestibular PT, I was given an appointment for the following week.I used my phone for navigation and was surprised at the... location it brought me to, I thought ,” I’ve been here before!”Well that was the only similarity in my PT experiences! In the period of time since I’ve been to this facility it had changed hands. Making me happily surprised.David McGinty is the director and was my therapist. The care and level of expertise I was given here was immediately obvious , his ability to think outside the box and help me get to a point where I am sturdier. At the beginning, I could fall with someone lightly bumping into me. With David and his team I have gotten much stronger! He started me off slow, for safety, and due to my weakness. After the first couple weeks, it became obvious my plan included not only balance exercises, but balance with strength. Although I feel stronger and more confident, I felt like I wanted to continue my therapy because I enjoyed going there so much. They have a post care program that’s very interactive and easy to follow. With just download any easy app onto your phone, you can have a structured program with your former therapist.I recommend professional Pt highly!!!read more

I've personally been a patient of David's for several years and look forward to each time I have an appointment with him.The environment is... stress free and welcoming, parking is pain free and they also have handicap parking as well as wheelchair ♿️ accessible doors.Couldn't ask for a better experience.read more

Very happy with Professional PT in Nbpt! I have been to two other PT places of high repute in the area and the experience was just ok but Dave, Olivia and the rest of this team on the other hand are truly the best. They helped tremendously with my immense pain I had in my sciatic and an unrelated... pain my shoulder. They are genuinely patient-centered, and interested in your story and physical/mental progress. They develop a careful PT regimen for you, treat you like an adult by explaining what you’re doing and why, provide regular check-ins on progress and adjust as needed. They are skilled and knowledgeable and also personable, communicative, and responsive. I have a cyclist husband and runner athlete son—if they need PT they will definitely come here.read more

I've been going to the Amesbury office working with Dave M. And back issues For over a year now and kind have been delt a bad deck of cards medically, but as I see it that's just part of life. His constant efforts and dedication towards my well being could not be matched anywhere his work is... slowly making me able to see the light at the end of the tunnel which for me has always been a tough journey, I recently have been visiting the Newburyport office with Dave and crew for a fractured foot and yet again I can see the light, helping to alleviate pain for multiple conditions in session. I recently met another one of his new co-workers Allie; she is the kindest soul I have ever met, she takes the time to listen and treats people with the respect they deserve, I can forsee she'll have a very bright future in the physical therapy industry. 👍🏼👍🏼read more

David and crew were excellent and handling my lower back issues. I worked with them for a number of weeks on targeted therapy and saw great improvement. Additionally, I left with a plan for future work that will help maintain my back health. I recommend very highly.

The Newburyport location is wonderful. The reception staff, PT assistants and Physical Therapists are polite, professional and punctual. The staff at this clinic provide high quality care. I had many questions after my knee surgery; staff spent the time to answer my questions and explain the... exercises to me. Dave and his team are very knowledgeable. Dave also took the time to explain what I could do to make more progress. Thanks to all of you for providing such quality care.read more

Growing up as a competitive athlete I had my fair share of injuries that landed me in a physical therapy clinic more than once, and while getting treatment for my injuries I quickly became interested in pursuing a career as a physical therapist. After completing my Bachelors degree at UMass Boston I began working for Professional Physical Therapy in a support role as an exercise technician while preparing to attend Graduate school. While working with the skilled therapists around me I learned invaluable lessons about patient care, communication, and the essence of being a great physical therapist. I attended Tufts University, received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and quickly returned to Professional Physical Therapy to begin my career. As a commitment to continue learning and developing my skills I plan to become certified in dry needling and attend a residency for orthopedic manual therapy later this year. I strive to build a collaborative relationship with my patients, and provide individualized care to assist them in reaching their goals. Outside of the clinic I can often be found with my dog Remi walking and hiking, or enjoying a good brewery.
