I had a fantastic experience with this Professional Physical and Hand Therapy and with my PT, Rose. My doctor wanted me to do PT before we discussed surgery and I was pretty skeptical that some stretching and strengthening could help. However, working with Rose completely changed my perspective.... She was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly encouraging throughout the entire process. She took the time to understand my issues, and created a plan that felt both manageable and effective. She adjusted my plan as we went along (based on my feedback) instead of just following a generic script. Most importantly, She continued to push and motivate me to stay on the plan both at home and in our sessions. Thanks to her expertise and support, I made steady progress and was able to avoid surgery altogether. Not to jinx it, but I feel good as new now. I’m genuinely grateful for the care I received here and would highly recommend this practice—especially Rose. The practice is a little hard to find at first because the entrance is in the back of the building, but always plenty of parking and easy to get to once you know where it is.read more

Third rehab with pro PT and another excellent experience. Natalia was great at understanding my athletic needs and adjusting my protocol accordingly. Unable to walk —> backflips on skis in 7 weeks speaks for itself. Highly recommend proPT!

All around an amazing experience at Professional Physical Therapy (Newton)! Booking was so easy with Sam at the front desk and Alex was fantastic. Attentive, thorough and exactly what I needed to get past my hip issue. There are many PT options, this is your place. They offer early morning and... evening hours, easy parking. 100% recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️read more

I have lots of experience with the team at Professional PT and they have all been great to work with. I did OT with Katherine for elbow tendonitis, and my son and daughter have done PT with Alex; my daughter for a spine injury/condition, and my son for sprained ankle. They were able to help us all... heal and get stronger so that we could return to our sports and activities as quickly as possible. Highly recommend.read more

TLDR: This is the best physical therapy clinic I've visited and I now request them for any of my PT needs.I have visited some physical therapists clinics in the past where most of the sessions were conducted by techs and I only saw the PT on the first, middle, and last appointment. While the... therapy still worked it felt less personall. At Professional PT, I work directly with my PT every visit. They do utilize techs on occasion, and their techs are very knowledgeable and great to work with, so I'm not disparaging them or their skill. It's very appreciated though that the PT ensures my plan is working and is regularly assessing how each exercise and adjustment is affecting me in my rehabilitation.read more

Really friendly and professional staff. Check-in is fairly efficient once you've got the first visit forms out of the way. They know what they're doing and have a range of equipment and exercises to do.

I cannot recommend this place enough! It’s absolutely wonderful! EVERYONE, is super nice and professional!!I started my journey almost a year ago. I fell badly and hurt my shoulder and wrist and tried PT with Katherine to recover. Katherine was amazing and significantly improved my situation but... we hit a plateau, only to find out after getting an MRI that I had a full tear in my shoulder and would have to have a rotator cuff surgery in order to fully recover. So I did… and as soon as I had the green light I was back at my favorite PT place. This time, I was assigned to Alex. She has been amazing, very professional, understanding, supporting, encouraging and coming up with great suggestions to make things easier for me. With the help of the wonderful Nikki (and occasionally Caty while Alex was out), I’mnow about 5 month after starting PT ( with a couple 2-week breaks along the way due to travel) and my range of motion is pretty much 99% normal and my strength is improving every week. Sam at the front desk was also a wonderful participant in my recovery journey, always super friendly and accommodating, making things easy for me from the admin side. These guys not just “fixed” me, they did it in such a friendly and fun manner that it was actually fun being there! I highly recommend Professional Physical Therapy in Newton! You guys are the best!! Professional Physical Therapy was amazing. Alex, Nikki and Caty were excellent. I went into therapy with some pretty bad neck, back and hip issues after a car accident, and their regiment of muscle strengthening exercises and deep muscle massage worked wonders for those injured areas. I had an outstanding experience working with Caitlin (Caty) at the Needham Street location in Newton. She was warm, friendly, and understanding, she explained to me the cause of my foot pain and developed an effective set of exercises to help. I had been dealing with foot pain for over a year by... the time I started physical therapy and I was convinced the pain was permanent, but within a month I was almost completely pain-free and noticeably stronger. Most importantly I felt confident about knowing what I could do at home to continue to build my strength and prevent the pain from recurring. If I ever need physical therapy again, I'll definitely go here again! Everyone at Professional Physical Therapy was welcoming, professional, and highly knowledgeable.read more

I had a rotator cuff issue that had plagued me for a few months due to weight-lifting. I was doubtful that I'd ever be able to lift again because of how limited my movement was. After finishing my last appointment yesterday, I'm confident that I'll be able to weight-lift again, even if it's not at... the level I was doing before. The staff here are kind, patient, and personable. It's an incredibly welcoming place. I was impressed with how the staff was able to remember details of conversations from the week prior about other things like vacations or concerts. Highly, highly recommended ! I am so appreciative of all the work that the folks here did for me. Alicia greeted me on my admission to the service, and worked hard to understand the issues I was struggling with. She collaborated with me to find a treatment plan that helped me get over my acute... symptoms and back to doing what I love to do. Kassie picked up my case once I was admitted and helped so much to get me back to top form. Colleen and Jack helped out tons with exercises, and Colleen went the extra mile to assist with scheduling, and insurance issues. I had several relapses during treatment, and in each case, Kassie and Alicia worked hard to understand what caused the symptoms, and what new exercises we could use to help stave them off in the future. Tons of manual therapy helped ease these flare ups, and got me back to top shape. I had one or two flare ups that were especially painful and emailed Alicia looking for guidance. She replied to these emails almost immediately and had lots of good ideas to manage things. I am sure this was no small feat while she was also running a very busy clinic!! Alicia and Kassie were so helpful in addressing my wish to plan a transition back to my regular activity level, and Kaline's referral to a physical trainer was invaluable. As a former Nurse, I was also so impressed and appreciative of all the measures that each member of the team took to prevent the spread of Covid: from masking to wiping down surfaces, to temp checks, I felt the clinic as was safe as it possibly could be. This was not an easy task for the clinicians there, but boy do I appreciate it! Thank you all at Professional PT!read more

I cannot say enough about Alicia and this practice. A few short weeks ago I was completely unable to move. A small movement was all it took and my back was thrown out. I am a 37 year old mother of 3 small kids so this wasn’t an option. I couldn’t hold my 13 lb. baby! Colleen got me in quickly and... Alicia started working on me immediately. It took only a few visits and I was able to start doing things again. Alicia never pushed me too hard, and everything she did she did gently. She gave me the tools to help myself get better at home as well. I am so grateful for her and Colleen’s help! Both physical and emotional at a time when I was so upset that I couldn’t move. I recommend this practice to anyone & everyone. Especially if your goal is pain relief and strengthening. Thank you guys so much! I feel completely lucky and grateful that I found you!!read more

If I could give Professional PT 10 stars, I would. I recently had the pleasure of working with Alicia for a neck strain that was limiting my ability to be productive at work and get restful sleep. Alicia is not only incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, effective in her treatment, and talented but is... also warm, personable, and truly cares about her patient’s rehabilitation. The combination of physical and manual therapy, had my neck feeling better in under two months. Whenever I had any worries, concerns, or self doubt about if I was ever going to feel better, Alicia would always take the time to listen, reassure, educate, and provide exercises that I could do at home to help aid in my rehab. On top of that, the entire staff including Jane and Colleen are wonderful! The facilities are super clean and safely set up with covid precautions in mind. High level of expertise and knowledge about functional physiology (and the causes of problems therein).Sophisticated evaluation, including slo-mo gait analysis, and life impact assessment.Therapy regimen emphasized active correction of imbalances in the entire musculo-skeletal chain that underlie... and caused my pathology(versus more passive treatments that sooth the affected area). Felt like treatment was constantly re-assessed rather than being rigidly one size fits all.Tailored home treatment regimen in addition to clinic sessions. My experience at Physical Therapy has been nothing less than excellent. The location in Newton is very convenient, with plenty of parking at the beginning of easy street. I came in for treatment on my neck which resulted from an auto vehicle accident whip lash injury. Scheduling is very easy. Colleen, along with the other team of staff, keep the exercise very easy to follow and always provided clear concise instruction or demonstration. My treatment is also coupled with manual therapy. This approach was very effective. As I progressed, the pain and discomforts started disappearing. The level of professionalism here is unmatched, and the hospitality superb. In my time at Stony Brook University, I researched and presented on direct access and necessity for increased access to Occupational Therapy and went on to present on this topic at the NYSOTA convention. During my Master's Degree program I completed a Level II fieldwork experience at Professional Physical and Hand Therapy, which lead to working for ProPT in NYS in 2021. While working in NYS I have worked closely with various hand surgeons to fabricate custom splints for their patients and allow streamlined access to therapeutic intervention. Recently, I have transferred to Massachusetts where I am practicing at our Newton and Salem Locations. I look forward to growing the Hand Therapy Division of ProPT in Massachusetts.
