Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful. They genuinely want you to get better and word hard at doing so.

Justin was such an integral part in helping me run again. For months my hip flexor made it so I couldn’t even walk straight. After the first two sessions of glute strengthening, I was able to jog for 10 minutes with no pain. The subsequent visits reinforced the glute and quad strengthening that... now I feel confident I can run a 10k very soon! Thank you!read more

Mike and his team are extremely professional and thoughtfully transparent. They set realistic expectations for my recovery from surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon. They use innovative techniques, and as such my recovery is coming along very well, even ahead of schedule. I highly... recommend this team.read more

Michael Habersaat PT, DPT, OCS provided great expertise, care and concern during my P.T. sessions. Not only did Michael Habersaat provide me with graduated exercises that decreased my pain, while increasing my mobility, he truly listened to what I was feeling and needed.I told Michael about a... life changing book I read years ago that provided information that taught me that gluten could inflame my joints. I greatly appreciated that Michael did not dismiss, nor discount, my learning from these authors..Also from the first session, Michael mapped out a therapy plan for me, working with me, which included my seeing an orthopedist. During my P.T. sessions, Michael checked with me if something hurt, while asking me various questions to improve my treatment. He explained everything and answered all questions, in a thorough and respectful manner.Michael also has a very caring manner, along with his knowledge and professional expertise, which I find that in this day and age, goes a long way to enhancing the “quality of life” for his clients. These “little things,” mean a great deal; a winning combination.I must include that working with the Aides and the Receptionists, was a very positive experience. After completion of my current P.T. with Mike, he said he will call me after six weeks to see how I am doing. Way cool, man! I highly recommend Michael Habersaat.read more

After years of trying to find help for my TMD (TMJ) I finally got the help I needed with Tara. She not only focused on treating my jaw but also the other areas of my body that attributed to the cause of my TMD such as complications & pain from spinal surgery and work related issues. After years... of seeking help from dentists, Neurologists and ENT's which yielded zero results & surprisingly very little knowledge about the condition itself I found almost immediate relief after only a few visits with Tara and was very impressed with her knowledge and understanding of this condition. All other staff are very kind, courteous and helpful.read more

I’m extremely content with the treatment I’ve been receiving at professional physical therapy. From reception with Ngoc to the physical therapists I’ve been working with, Mike and Nick; they’re just awesome. They’re informative and challenge me which has been supporting me in feeling better. I feel... like all the physical therapists’ and aides are friendly and super helpful. Everyone makes it feel like a second home where you can get back to feeling the way you did before any injury. I am beyond grateful for finding you online and looking forward to feeling my best by the time I’m done.read more

I have needed PT three times over the last 10 years or so and these guys/gals are the best. I have had other experiences and other places couldn’t compare. The level of expertise, patience and professionalism is unmatched. Both times I’ve been at Professional my range of motion has come back... completely. I highly recommend this business.read more

I recently had spinal surgery and needed to find a good Physical Therapist. My husband and son both went to Professional Physical Therapy and loved them!I’m so grateful for Professional Physical Therapy in River Edge. They made a very difficult experience much easier. My main therapist was... Michael Habersaat, he is amazing! I had moments that I broke down crying on the table and he was always right next to me. He is very informative and I learned a lot about my condition and what my next steps were. He pushed me when I needed to be pushed and backed off when my body needed a break. I never felt rushed to finish an exercise or to leave when I wasn't ready. He really cared about my well being.Mike was always very respectful, as a woman that meant a lot to me. He would tell me what he was going to do before he did anything and always kept me informed. I fully trusted him with my recovery!read more

This team knows what they’re doing! I had the best time recovering from my ankle surgery with such a FRIENDLY, THOUGHTFUL and Professional group. My physician Michael was super personable. Made me feel like I was the only one there even when they had a full house. And then my main man Mike made the... experience even better by just being the nicest guy I’ve ever met. The beautiful ladies in the front were super helpful and attentive. Thank you guys so much!read more

Professional Physical Therapy operates precisely as it’s named. Earlier this summer I cracked my ankle, suffering severe discomfort and continuous pain. I’ve researched multiple places and discovered this place purely based off its reviews. Over the course of a few weeks, not only has my ankle... gotten better but has became much stronger than my other ankle. Tara and her team have been nothing less than absolutely professional and are incredibly knowledge in the field of physical therapy. I highly recommend most people suffering with pain to seek out assistance from these team of professionals if they wish to improve their health and well-being.read more

Everyone at Professional Physical Therapy is wonderful. From the time you walk in until the time you leave, EVERYONE from the staff treats you like you are the only one there. The secretary is awesome. She greets you with the biggest smile and is always ready to accommodate you with appointments... that are in accordance with your schedule. She does this with a smile, even when you need to change an appointment. Then the physical therapists are all awesome. They work so well together. They are a team. If I have one therapist and I’m finished with an exercise, and Autumn (who is totally THE BEST!!) is not available, because she is helping someone else, another therapist will help out. They work so well as a team. The PTs look at the entire person. They push you as far as you can go and they are proud of you for all of your accomplishments. If you’re having a bad day, they understand and work with you.I highly recommend Professional Physical Therapy, because they are so wonderful to work with and are so understanding and friendly.read more

I have had physical therapy sessions with Professional since early this year. They are truly accommodating, gentle and expert therapists, and go to great lengths on behalf of their patients. I worked with them through the ‘dark days’ of a COVID hotspot, when they were able to instruct me via... tele-health. They were always patient as I learned the software and upgraded my camera and digital device. Their expertise is top notch, and I re-gained mobility in my neck through the therapy. I now attend sessions at the facility, and enjoy the same cheerful, patient attitude, and the expertise therapy, as I feel better each week. I recommend Professional highly.read more

I became interested in Physical Therapy as a high school athlete. It became my passion to live a healthy lifestyle and promote it to family and friends. I entered the 6 year Physical Therapy Program at Quinnipiac University. In my last year I was assigned a clinical rotation at Professional Physical Therapy in Paramus. From there, my journey with ProPT began. I have been able to foster my education in a changing clinic, and continue to develop my skills as a clinician. I now am the Clinical Director of River Edge and have come full circle to treat in the town I grew up in. I focus my practice on manual therapy where my hands guide me to injuries in order to help patients heal. I also take a functional based approach to help patient get back to normal functions in their daily life. Some manual interventions include cupping, massage, Instrument assisted soft tissue massage, Kinesiotaping, Active release techniques. I take a full body approach assessing your function, gait mechanics, and body posture while reeducating you through exercise to limit pain and dysfunction. I strive to help you achieve your goals for a pain free future!

Upon initially graduating college, Julie was working in a sales office and although she enjoyed the customer service aspect, she knew she wanted to do something more active and fulfilling. She had attended trade shows and met many physical therapists over the next few years and was intrigued at their love for the profession. So the decision was made to return to school for physical therapy and she never looked back. After starting her PT career at Hackensack University Medical Center, which was invaluable training for acute care and trauma situations, she knew she wanted to transition to outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. Her love of working out, hiking, golfing, jogging and softball all lead her to want to help others get back to the activities that they each enjoy.

Over the years, Julie has worked at several different orthopedic locations and has trained in various methods including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, trigger point dry needling, Mulligan techniques, and many other various hands on and exercise based courses.

She set her goals to include becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2005, then returning to school to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007. She then passed her recertification for her Board Certification in 2015.

She believes that helping patients understand their diagnosis in clear, concise terms then developing a plan that includes a blend of education, hands on techniques, targeted exercises, and a home program will empower patients to achieve their goals.

Julie recently joined Professional Physical Therapy and is finding likeminded therapists who work as a team to give patients optimal care.
