Bio
I became interested in Physical Therapy as a high school athlete. It became my passion to live a healthy lifestyle and promote it to family and friends. I entered the 6 year Physical Therapy Program at Quinnipiac University. In my last year I was assigned a clinical rotation at Professional Physical Therapy in Paramus. From there, my journey with ProPT began. I have been able to foster my education in a changing clinic, and continue to develop my skills as a clinician. I now am the Clinical Director of River Edge and have come full circle to treat in the town I grew up in. I focus my practice on manual therapy where my hands guide me to injuries in order to help patients heal. I also take a functional based approach to help patient get back to normal functions in their daily life. Some manual interventions include cupping, massage, Instrument assisted soft tissue massage, Kinesiotaping, Active release techniques. I take a full body approach assessing your function, gait mechanics, and body posture while reeducating you through exercise to limit pain and dysfunction. I strive to help you achieve your goals for a pain free future!

Bio
Upon initially graduating college, Julie was working in a sales office and although she enjoyed the customer service aspect, she knew she wanted to do something more active and fulfilling. She had attended trade shows and met many physical therapists over the next few years and was intrigued at their love for the profession. So the decision was made to return to school for physical therapy and she never looked back. After starting her PT career at Hackensack University Medical Center, which was invaluable training for acute care and trauma situations, she knew she wanted to transition to outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. Her love of working out, hiking, golfing, jogging and softball all lead her to want to help others get back to the activities that they each enjoy.
Over the years, Julie has worked at several different orthopedic locations and has trained in various methods including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, trigger point dry needling, Mulligan techniques, and many other various hands on and exercise based courses.
She set her goals to include becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2005, then returning to school to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007. She then passed her recertification for her Board Certification in 2015.
She believes that helping patients understand their diagnosis in clear, concise terms then developing a plan that includes a blend of education, hands on techniques, targeted exercises, and a home program will empower patients to achieve their goals.
Julie recently joined Professional Physical Therapy and is finding likeminded therapists who work as a team to give patients optimal care.
