I had thumb surgery about 3 weeks ago and my first hand therapy appt was yesterday. I worked with Elizabeth and she was wonderful! She made me feel so comfortable and was so gentle with the therapy. She is a wealth of information and certainly knows her stuff. Unfortunately, I live in PA and the... trip is just too hard for me to continue and I'm so disappointed, but she did give me some referrals in PA to look into. I have one more appt with her tomorrow, but am sad to leave. I thought the ride home would be painful for my hand, but it was so relaxed and pain free.read more

Brian and Kara helped me recover from a pulley injury I obtained through rock climbing. I've waited a while to write this review to see how my recovery is progressing after treatment, and I'm happy to report it feels better than ever.I can recommend the practice wholeheartedly, Brian has created... an environment in which serious physical therapy is combined with fun exercises. I always looked forward to going, and came back feeling better.I was referred to Brian by Dr. Beldner at the New York Hand & Wrist Center. I started coming here and working with Bryan after my surgery and I can honestly say I’m going to be so sad when I no longer have to come in! The environment is just so welcoming, friendly, and fun. I feel like Bryan, Britney, and the rest of the team are more than just my occupational therapy... team, they’ve become friends too! I genuinely enjoy coming here, and my hand/ring finger has improved so much in mobility since I began working with Bryan. The exercises he gave me to do at home really helped, in addition to all the exercises I do in the office to gradually increase my strength again. I seriously love this office and totally recommend their work and friendship.read more

My son got a bad fracture above his left wrist. The first orthopedist completed the treatment while he still had the complaints. After changing the orthopedist, the new doctor suggested for occupational therapy for 12 sessions, giving a list of practices. I chose and contacted Professional Physical... Therapy at Somerset, NJ. We found the service very helpful. My son's hand got significantly improved very quickly. After the 9th sessions, the orthopedist told us that he did not need it any more. Thanks Brian, the therapist and Brittany, the patient coordinator for your help, cooperation, professionalism and easy to reach out. Your app also was a great tool for my son to exercise at home. Great job!read more

I have always wanted to help people in a healthcare setting, and after seeing how much therapy helped my family and friends I knew I had found my calling. I volunteered at Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ and fell in love with the practice of occupational therapy. I attended Quinnipiac University’s entry-level program in order to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. For my graduate capstone, I researched the efficacy of telehealth hand therapy at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic and surveyed the patients and clinicians that worked together during this challenging time. Following full-time clinical fieldworks in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, community mental health, and outpatient hand therapy, I became licensed by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Prior to my time with Professional Hand Therapy, I treated occupational therapy patients in an outpatient setting, and I am now on my path to become a Certified Hand Therapist.
