I came to Professional Physical Therapy in Waltham after struggling with intermittent neck pain for several months. I tried prolonged rest from physical activity, massage therapy and chiropractic care but had no success relieving my neck pain. Ed was able to understand my problem in the very first... session and crafted a treatment plan to get me back on track and resuming my typical activities. After about 5 weeks of sessions with Ed and his team I was feeling nearly 100% back to normal. I waited a few weeks before writing this review and can now confirm that I remain pain free and am essentially back to my regular routine of working out several times a week without issue. I’ve kept up with many of Ed’s recommendations related to stretching, exercise, sleep positioning and taking breaks throughout the work day and am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend this facility for their ability to treat patients and provide a fun environment in the process. Thanks Professional Physical Therapy!read more

I rarely write reviews, but am compelled to do so for anyone seeking PT in the Waltham area. Everyone at this facility is upbeat, kind, and knowledgeable , starting with Scotty at the front desk to my therapist, Ed, who gracefully balances professionalism with patience. In six weeks, shoulder... pain from arthritis was virtually eliminated: five stars.read more

Following a severe hip fracture June 2021, months passed and finally I was cleared for physical therapy. PPT came highly recommended and the local branch is two blocks from me. I have to confess that I was initially skeptical. My medical care in the Boston area has been frightful. However, the... staff at PPT proved to be beyond exceptional in their skills as therapists and human beings. Even hearty thanks fail to suffice as I am walking normally after months on crutches. Bravo, team PPT Waltham!read more

I highly recommend Pro PT for anyone in need of physical therapy. I fractured my ankle in September and found Pro PT online because it was close to where I live and work. I had never needed PT before, and should I ever need it again this is the only place I would go! Julianne (plus all the amazing... techs and other PTs), helped me progress from non-weightbearing back to nearly 100% in just a couple months. They were incredibly accommodating helping me receive my treatment even when there was trouble with my insurance authorization. Their welcoming, supportive, patient-centered environment is second to none, and without them I would not have recovered as quickly as I have!read more

I highly recommend this place. Everybody there is very professional and accomodating to your needs. Dr. Sarni especially recommended Dave for my chronic neck issues that I thought may not ever get better. His approach to getting to the root cause of the issue and then treating it is admirable. He... is very knowledgeable and thorough in his explanation when asked a question. He successfully treated my neck and spine issues. Anybody filling in for him in his absence was also super nice and made sure I get the best care and treatment. I am deeply thankful for the difference they have made in my active lifestyle - Aysharead more

Theo helped me through a severe high ankle sprain and got me back to playing soccer and basketball with strength and confidence. From checking in to the end of your appointment, everyone who works here is wonderful and truly there to help and support you.

So grateful that I chose to go to Professional PT Waltham for my PT needs. All the workers were so friendly and personable. I always had a great time when I went for my appointments and I knew I was in good hands. Theo was my physical therapist and he did an awesome job. He was super knowledgeable,... always answering my questions and knowing just what to do to help my pain. The progress I made during my time here was incredible. I am super thankful!read more

My Daughter has been going to Prof. PT on and off for numerous sports injuries for two years. They are kind, informative, supportive, knowledgeable and most importantly they care! Ed and Dave are great!
Robert E D.
During two separate periods of physical stress the team aided my recovery. In both instances the professionalism of staff was demonstrated in how I was able to measure my ongoing improvement and in how the principal therapists assigned my case and their assistants continually measured my responses... and adjusted tensions, weights, repetitions, and stretches to conform to where I was in the development process and where my program was pointed me toward. The accommodation to my precise abilities was sound and made my experience easier than it might otherwise have been. I am sure you will benefit from their help..read more

While I was going to PT I was working with Robert S and it was a great experience! I had a nagging hamstring after pulling it a few years ago. Through the sessions, he was able to clear up the hamstring with soft tissue massages and strength exercise. He also setup a workout plan for me moving... forward to help prevent any future injuries. The whole staff is awesome which creates a friendly and relaxing environment. I would recommend anyone looking for physical therapy to go to Professional Physical Therapy!read more

This place is awesome. I personally worked with Ed and I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a physical therapist. 6 weeks ago it hurt just to walk, and now I feel practically back to normal!!

Ok. I have never had a good PT experience, and I know I’m just starting out here. But I love everything about this place. The coordinator Scott is unbelievably helpful and friendly and just a joy to talk to.. I am working with Robert, honestly I’ve never been more confident in a PT before.. he knew... EXACTLY what was going on, he explained/put into words everything I’ve been feeling for 9 months but didn’t know how to verbalize. His exam was so thorough and thoughtful and really individually focused. I can’t wait to continue here and for once in 9 months I’m fully confident I am in the right hands and truly believe in the methods he discussed with me. 10/5 recommend this place!!read more

Love it! Significantly less pain every time I go. Bobby is the best but honestly everyone is great and they have a fantastic team dynamic. Very clean and upbeat. Great energy and the exercises have helped me after my car accident so much. The knowledge of the staff is remarkable. Love this place!

Back in June 2020 I ruptured my Achilles’ tendon. I elected for surgery and 6wks post op I was cleared to start physical therapy. Looking at all my PT clinic options, the choice was clear that Professional was my best bet. Working directly with the physical therapist Dave for 2 months he had me... back to running, cycling, and hiking in no time! The entire staff is professional, well educated, and most importantly friendly. As an OT myself I couldn’t of asked for a better experience with my recovery.read more

I got into a car accident back in July, I looked at all the reviews and thought I would give here a try. I was in treatment for over 2 months and had the best experience. I was treated the absolute best, everyone in this building knows exactly what they are talking about and makes sure you are in... good hands. They explain every exercise to you thoroughly, I really appreciated never being left in the dark on anything that was going on with my symptoms. I HIGHLY recommend Ed, and Bobby they where where friendly and thorough. Also thank you to Christina, she really went the extra mile to help me with my exercises. I can not rave about this place enough, 10/10 staff.read more

This PT location is absolutely amazing and wonderful! I started post shoulder surgery and have experienced pain relief and increase in arm mobility. They are all welcoming and friendly. Robert is great and very informative about what he is doing and how it helps to continue therapy.

It is with utmost sincerity that I write this review. If anyone is in need of physical therapy, this is definitely the facility to attend. My brother’s rotator cuff injury was successfully treated by Dave Melchiorri who became my physical therapist. From the moment you walk in the door, you know... that you are in a very special place. The whole staff is exceptional. They always greet you with genuine smiles and by your first name...such a personal touch. As the song from Cheers goes, “Sometime you wanna goWhere everybody knowsyour nameAnd they’re always glad youcame.”Having been to other physical therapists, Dave is #1par excellence! He is warm, compassionate, and exceptionally knowledgeable and truly interested in the well being of every patient. His philosophy is to treat the whole body, not just one area. Personally speaking, he has made a big difference in my therapy and I am most grateful and in listening to other patients, their sentiments are the same.Dave’s positive attitude is always present and, as such, it transfers to the patient, thus accelerating home exercises .His success, as well as that of the other physical therapists, in treating many types ofproblems is well known. “Be good to yourself”are his parting words after each session and I highly recommend that you do so by becominga patient at Professional Physical Therapy!read more

I grew up in Southern New Jersey where I played several high school sports as well as a few different classical music instruments. I was always in and out of physical therapy as a high school athlete and although I loved the environment and idea of physical therapy, I originally decided to major in music. I was accepted into Boston University’s music performance program, but after the first year and a half of playing at a significantly increased volume I began experiencing a series of playing related injuries which would not allow me to play at the level necessary to be a professional. I eventually decided to switch to physical therapy to help those musicians and athletes who were in my position, struggling to accomplish their goals due to pain. I rely on my background in music and sports and my personal experience as a patient throughout my life to help me treat a wide range of patients.

I became interested in physical therapy during my undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at Elon University. I fell in love with Boston while visiting for the DPT accepted students weekend at BU and completed my doctorate degree there in May of 2020. As a graduate of the pandemic, I took a job where the need was greatest at a nursing home in Chestnut Hill, MA in late summer 2020. At the beginning of 2021, I shifted jobs to Professional PT in Waltham, MA where I had been a student just a year before.

Since starting at Professional Physical Therapy, I have furthered my education by completing a year long orthopedic manual therapy specialization through the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and pelvic health courses through Herman & Wallace. I am passionate about bridging the gap between general orthopedic and pelvic floor conditions to bring awareness and care to those in need such as women in pregnancy and postpartum, and female athletes.  I enjoy treating people of all ages and stages of life and empowering them with the tools to live active and be in control of their pain.

I first became interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy after taking anatomy and physiology class at Castleton University in Vermont. During my time at Castleton, I played four years of collegiate level softball where I gained experience in strength training and fitness. I grew to love movement based health and wellness and wanted a job where I could help others get back to enjoying the things they love to do. I started working at Professional Physical Therapy as an exercise tech in 2018 and loved it so much that I have recently returned as a Physical Therapist! I am currently completing Level I at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy to further my knowledge in orthopedics.

I grew up playing sports my whole life, specifically soccer and saw many teammates and players injure themselves playing the sport they love. I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare and help people, so I knew a career that blended my love for sports and interacting with different people would be best. Since ACL injuries are very common in women's soccer, I became passionate about ACL injury prevention and return to sport testing to get players back on the field. During my time in school, I have completed multiple clinical rotations treating many different people of all ages and diagnoses. My goal is to work collaboratively with patients to treat the condition they present with in hopes of returning to a pain-free lifestyle. In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends, go to games and concerts, and travel!

I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles, California, playing football, baseball and surfing on the weekends. A string of injuries baseball injuries landed me in physical therapy, which I immediately felt a connection to. Creating a relationship with my physical therapist throughout these sessions gave me insight into the profession and I realized it was something I would like to do. This led to me applying as a Kinesiology major at San Diego State University, where I made the transition to playing Rugby and continued surfing in my free time. Another injury led to more PT and another great physical therapist, who took me on first as a volunteer and then as a tech, and mentored me in my journey as I began applying to physical therapy school. I was accepted into the program at Washington University in St. Louis, where I learned about the movement system and how small things that we do in every day can lead to pain, as well as how to relieve that pain. During my schooling I worked at various clinics across the country including: a neurological clinic in Pittsburgh, PA, an orthopedic clinic in Anchorage, AK, and a high-level sports clinic in Costa Mesa, CA where I worked with professional surfers, MMA fighters and national team soccer players. At the culmination of my studies in 2023, I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. A yearning to continue exploring the country brought me to Boston, where I plan to be for at least the next several years. Although I am a new clinician, I have a continued passion for learning and will be completing level one of a manual therapy course through the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy over the next year.
