Started going to professional PT in Wyckoff for low back and sciatica pain down my leg. Anthony, my physical therapist, showed me several exercises that helped reduce the pain and strengthen my back and leg, which helped me push off surgery for a while. I enjoyed and trusted professional PT so much... that I used them again for my post surgery PT. Anthony showed me exercises that would allow me to bend, lift, and twist without re-injuring my back. We did functional exercises that translated directly into movements and tasks I would do at home or at work. I now have complete confidence in my back again and in my ability to perform my duty as a police officer. The staff at professional PT are pleasant, courteous, and easy to work with. They have flexible hours and a clean facility. I highly recommend!read more

I’m beyond thrilled that this facility was open during this pandemic. My injury became so painful, I couldn’t function. Carla gave me the initial evaluation, listened to me, was very thorough, and followed up with my doctors and my MRI. She’s been amazing with the therapy, and I’m beyond... grateful for her dedication to the care of her patients.read more

Bio

After spending time in the Princeton University training room as an injured undergraduate athlete, I decided on my path to physical therapy. I graduated with a BA in history (with a lot of sciences), lettering 4 years in softball and 1 as a JV field hockey goalie. After a small stint in the advertising world I attended Boston University and graduated from Sargent College of Allied Health in 1993. My professional career found me working at Professional SportsCare for several years until it became HealthSouth in 1996. From there, after serving as administrator of one of the original PSC clinics in East Rutherford, I married Rich Sica, PTA and soon to be OT and we left, opening our own outpatient facility in Waldwick, NJ. Achieve Sportsmedicine served the community from 2000 until 2016 when we merged with Professional Physical Therapy. I now run the Wyckoff, NJ office, which had opened as Achieve in 2006, with the same pride of ownership as the day we started.
