plantar fasciitis treatment.

Pain management for plantar fasciitis

A large band of tissue runs from the heel to the front of the foot, called the ‘Plantar Fascia’. When these tissue fibers begin to break down, they can cause the painful condition in the arch and heel of the foot known as Plantar Fasciitis.

Physical Therapy for Plantar Fasciitis

This condition is very common with overuse and repetitive impact, such as athletes that perform a large amount of jumping and running.  It can also be caused by overstretching the calf and ankle which can inflame the tendons, making them lose their strength.

Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis include pain in the bottom of the heel which can spread to the entire foot, as well as pain when stretching the foot and ankle.
