Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common culprits behind heel pain. It affects people of all ages, both athletes and non-athletes, and makes ordinary activities such as walking or standing abnormally painful. Physical therapy is an effective, non-surgical treatment that can help manage your current symptoms and prevent future damage as much as possible. Professional’s physical therapists are experts in assessing discomfort caused by plantar fasciitis and creating individualized treatment plans that aim to relieve pain, improve the status of your tendons and muscles, and alleviate your symptoms for the long term. Our goal is to guide your path to recovery so you can get back on your feet without the pain caused by plantar fasciitis.

Physical Therapy for Plantar Fasciitis

What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is a condition that develops when repeated activities put a strain on the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that supports the arch of the foot. Over time, the plantar fascia tissue fibers can begin to break down and tear, causing pain in the arch and heel of the foot. People diagnosed with plantar fasciitis also may have heel spurs, a bony growth that forms on the heel bone.
Plantar fasciitis is very common with overuse of and repetitive impact on your feet. It can also be caused by overstretching the calf and ankle which can inflame the tendons, causing them to lose their strength and supportive purpose. While pain near the heel on the bottom of the foot is the most common complaint, plantar fasciitis symptoms can spread to the entire foot and ankle.
Our goal is to guide your path to recovery so you can get back to living your life to the fullest, free of painful and bothersome plantar fasciitis symptoms
