Professional was a proud sponsor and thrilled to support all the riders at the annual, 2021 Long Island Bike Challenge (LIBC), along other dedicated volunteers, corporate sponsors, and individual contributors.
What a great day (and the weather cooperated)! On Sunday, August 1st, bicycle riders from the NY metro area and states as far away as Florida and Washington State, cycled across Long Island to raise money to battle cancer. And Professional Physical Therapy was there at the finish line in Westhampton, NY, offering complimentary stretching for all participants. Riders that took on the challenge, biked 25-85 miles across Long Island and welcomed our services. We had a great time helping the riders!
The Long Island Bike Challenge (LIBC) conducts this event every year, which inspires dedicated cyclists to ride across Long Island with the goal of raising funds to prevent and cure cancer, raising and gifting over $325,000. The LIBC directs 100% of all rider raised donations to support advanced medical research conducted at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research which is the research arm for the Northwell Health System.
It’s always good to remember how important it is for cyclists to maintain a consistent stretching routine that focuses on specific muscle groups, to combat tightness and pain after a long ride.
