Responding to Our Social Climate

Responding to Our Social Climate

This week, we saw millions of people pour into action and solidarity over unnecessary violence and the death of George Floyd. It is impossible and irresponsible not to acknowledge the unrest and anguish our communities have experienced. We recognize that the current climate affects you, your families, and us as an organization as we all look to learn, respond, and act responsibly to build a better tomorrow.

Since our inception in 1999, Professional Physical Therapy has been and always will be a community-driven company. We have worked to support all of our communities through the 911 attacks on New York City, the 2008 financial crisis, Super Storm Sandy, the worst New England winter storms, and presently, the COVID-19 pandemic. We have raised and distributed millions of dollars for various community charities and causes. We continue our efforts in the spirit of our own cause – to challenge limits – and unite across our five northeast states and 180+ locations in each community we serve.

The core of our business is caring for others, and our company proudly employs hundreds of people who commit their lives and careers to making others better. Steadfast to our company mission and values, Professional denounces any form of racism, social injustice, or violence. We have always been, and always will be allies in the care and positive impact on all members of our communities.

Professional has supported our nondiscriminatory hiring and employment policies for more than two decades, and will continue to invite our team to opportunities within our company without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, national origin, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.

We believe in the spirit of collaboration and join our peers in supporting fair, ethical, and compassionate conduct. We are hopeful with reconciliation, collaboration, and cooperation, together we will assist to deliver the solutions to move forward as one.

We stand against racism. We stand against social injustice. And we stand with our governing body in a pledge to listen, learn, and act to serve you better as an organization.
