New and existing patients can download the Professional Physical Therapy app to access home exercise programs and conduct telehealth appointments with your therapist.
As the popularity of telehealth continues to rise, Professional Physical Therapy has found a way to distinguish our telehealth providers, giving them the opportunity to become a Certified Telehealth Clinician. Telehealth is a relatively new tool and we want our patients to feel confident in the knowledge and technology skills of our team. That’s why our clinical excellence department has focused on developing a training and certification program to meet our therapist and patient needs based on our commitment to providing patients with world-class care.
Therapists who have at least one year of clinical experience, completed 15 telehealth sessions, and received a recommendation by the operations and excellence team, are invited to partake in this certification. During these mandatory training sessions, clinicians will review Professional’s telehealth policy and procedure manual as well as a presentation covering all aspects of telehealth delivery. To complete this certification process, the clinicians must pass a 25 question written exam, testing their clinical knowledge and knowledge of how to perform an effective telehealth session. They are also required to participate in a mock-telehealth appointment, with detailed requirements to pass the live exam and they were instructed to treat the tester as if they were a patient. After passing these steps, the clinician is considered to be a Certified Telehealth Practitioner.
