Telehealth with Professional Physical Therapy

New and existing patients can download the Professional Physical Therapy app to access home exercise programs and conduct telehealth appointments with your therapist.

As the popularity of telehealth continues to rise, Professional Physical Therapy has found a way to distinguish our telehealth providers, giving them the opportunity to become a Certified Telehealth Clinician. Telehealth is a relatively new tool and we want our patients to feel confident in the knowledge and technology skills of our team. That’s why our clinical excellence department has focused on developing a training and certification program to meet our therapist and patient needs based on our commitment to providing patients with world-class care.

Therapists who have at least one year of clinical experience, completed 15 telehealth sessions, and received a recommendation by the operations and excellence team, are invited to partake in this certification. During these mandatory training sessions, clinicians will review Professional’s telehealth policy and procedure manual as well as a presentation covering all aspects of telehealth delivery. To complete this certification process, the clinicians must pass a 25 question written exam, testing their clinical knowledge and knowledge of how to perform an effective telehealth session. They are also required to participate in a mock-telehealth appointment, with detailed requirements to pass the live exam and they were instructed to treat the tester as if they were a patient. After passing these steps, the clinician is considered to be a Certified Telehealth Practitioner.

Telehealth with Professional Physical Therapy

What is Telehealth?

Our telehealth visit is a 20-40 minute physical therapy session via video call with a live, licensed physical therapist from Professional.

All you need is an internet or data connection via computer, smart phone, or tablet with a camera and speaker.

Setting up for your Appointment

Set up your camera or phone
Set up in a quiet space or use headphones
Make sure you have enough space to move

Checklist for a successful telehealth appointment

When you set up for your appointment, you will want to set up your phone or camera in such a way that your face can be seen and you have space to move or demonstrate with your therapist.

You will want to take your call in a quiet environment and use headphones if necessary for good audio quality.

Before your appointment, you will be emailed a 6 letter access code.

When it is time for your telehealth appointment, enter your code and click “Access your program”.

Once you use the code to access your program, you will hit the green answer button for the call, consent to the call, and be connected to your appointment.

During the call you can mute your audio or turn off your video capability if need be.

We can’t wait to see you!
