The McKenzie Method is a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation of conditions of the spine. Practitioners of the McKenzie Method are trained to assess and treat mechanical dysfunctions of the spine, as well as to teach patients preventative care, empowering them to control and manage their symptoms in between treatment sessions, and after completion of the rehabilitation process.
The McKenzie Method is based on a patient’s response to repeated movements and positions, thereby identifying a treatment method that decreases pain and is reproducible by the patient to take outside the treatment setting.
McKenzie is a way to treat more complicated conditions of the spine with the important component of patient education regarding posture and self-care.
